Kelly took care of several behind-the-scenes tasks for the organization, including the layout and design (also cover design) of the 2022 Youth Awards Book. The Kansas Authors Club was organized in Topeka, Kan. in 1903, adopting the organizational name Kansas Authors' Club in early 1904 (the apostrophe was dropped in the 1920s).
